Eating Well

Overview
A healthy and balanced diet is important for maintaining good physical and mental health. By eating well, you can help support your overall health and well-being. A healthy and balanced diet can provide the body with the nutrients it needs to function properly. In addition, eating well can help regulate mood and reduce the irritability that can accompany hypomania or mania in your daily life. Diet and nutrition can be a complex topic. Unfortunately, because of all the individual variability, there are no one-size-fits-all answers, but here is a list of some factors to consider when making food choices.

Variety
Eating a variety of different foods from all the major food groups can provide the body with a range of essential nutrients and support overall health.
Nutrient density
Choosing nutrient-dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats can provide the body with the nutrients it needs to function properly.
Portion size
Eating the right amount of food can help to maintain a healthy weight and support overall physical and mental health.
Meal timing
Eating regular, balanced meals can help to regulate blood sugar levels and support mood and energy levels.
Hydration
Drinking enough water can help support physical and mental health, and may also help reduce feelings of fatigue and irritability.
Avoid consuming stimulant
Remember to avoid stimulants such as coffee or energy drinks, especially in the late afternoon or evening. Drinking your usual morning coffee or tea shouldn't be a problem, as long as it's in reasonable amounts.
